- Task Description This assessment requires you to prepare a written report that discusses why the concept of Supply Chain Management is increasing in strategic importance within today’s business environment. The report will need to include the ‘key drivers’ behind why more and more attention is being focused on Supply Chain Management and the benefits / advantages that an effective supply chain strategy can provide to an organisation. The assessment should be presented as a report of not more than 1750 words and focus on the key aspects that you feel are the most appropriate to the context of your assignment. Whilst specific concepts that are relevant to the topic will be introduced in the lecture and tutorial sessions, students are encouraged to undertake additional research in relation to this assessment and relate their research findings to real world example(s) of their choice to further demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the subject area. The assessment needs to be submitted electronically before 4pm on Friday 10th August.
- Assessment Criteria Students are assessed on their written communication skills and ability to construct a coherent argument by clearly articulating any interrelationships between the key points discussed. The student’s written work also needs to demonstrate initiative and ingenuity in research and reading, pointed and critical analysis of material, innovative interpretation of evidence, make an insightful contribution to relevant debates, and develop abstract or theoretical arguments on the strength of detailed research and interpretation. The work should be properly sourced and documented and the writing characterised by creativity, style, and precision. Grades relate to the standard at which students demonstrate these criteria.
